Dr. Charles A. Moore Biography
Returning to serve his native community of New Iberia, Dr. Charles A. Moore is a skilled otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon who brings a wealth of knowledge in managing persistent ear, nose, and throat issues. Dr. Moore joins Southern ENT Associates at their New Iberia facility, ready to provide top-notch care.
Dr. Moore’s academic journey began at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in computer science and software engineering. He then pursued his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, earning distinction by being inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, and receiving the Cheryl Clark Lyles Outstanding Student Award in Otolaryngology.
His residency in Otolaryngology and head and neck surgery was completed at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, with significant training at the esteemed ENT department of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Moore was awarded a grant from the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology for his research on DNA changes in children with obstructive sleep apnea and contributed to research on pediatric airway reconstruction as well as the microbiology of chronic rhinosinusitis.
Dr. Moore is adept in a wide array of otolaryngological treatments, with particular interests in comprehensive pediatric ENT care, thyroid, and parathyroid surgery, and the medical and surgical management of sinus disease, allergy, and obstructive sleep apnea, including procedures like the Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator implant. His broad surgical training also encompasses the treatment of chronic ear disease, hearing loss, neck masses, head and neck cancer, and voice and swallowing disorders.
